We all know where that line is from and I hope we get to see it in the anime. With exams over for now, I’ll be back to translating. Next up is is Life.1, however I’ve made plans for various other things IRL so I won’t be going through it too quickly. Life.1 is also about 1.5 times as long as V18 Life.4 but at my current pace it’ll likely be done within 2 weeks or so. Since I don’t want to be posting it up in 30+ separate parts of my usual size, I’ll be releasing it in 8 parts.

HighSchool DxD BorN? I’m fairly excited for the DVD/BD specials. Overall, I felt that the season was rather rushed, but otherwise alright. The ending left me with mixed feelings because of what happened (and what didn’t) but I think the prospects of a fourth season are pretty good. I’m disappointed that there was no rating game against Sitri as well as Chichigami-sama. It seems there was a lot of ‘foreshadowing’ about the events of the next season, some of which was welcome but deviated far more from the LNs than I expected. More Raynare was good, I was alright with how they introduced Bilingual given that the RG wasn’t in it. Welsh Blaster Bishop showing up was a surprise, I don’t mind that as long as S4 handles it well, seriously, if V9 & 10 stick close to the LNs whilst accommodating for BorN’s changes that’s fine with me. Certainly a drop in quality and enjoyment this season compared to the past two but just thinking about V9-10 getting animated is making me excited. I can’t wait for V11-12 if that’s coming soon as well.

I got a number of suggestions recently which I’ll be working on soon. I’m on break till the end of July so I should be able to get more done.

HighSchool DxD Volume 18 complete!

So volume 18 of DxD is finally done. Looking back, it actually wasn’t too long ago that I had just started translating it but it feels like it’s been much longer. Anyway, it’s also up on Baka-Tsuki now so you can edit to your liking. I’ve also checked the RAWs for V18 and can confirm that there are no other illustrations besides those of Irina which have already been covered which is slightly disappointing but V19 looks to have quite a few more illustrations.

I’ll be probably be starting volume 19 in the next few days but will probably only do “Rudra” and “Life.0”. Then I’ll be taking a break until late June / early July as I’ll be having exams then. But I’m at least hoping to get close to finishing volume 19 by the time that volume 20 is released. No guarantees though as V19 appears to have roughly 10 more pages than V18. Then again it does have more illustrations too.

My thoughts on BorN Ep 7 & BorN Ep 3 (Dub)

Hi there,

So after watching this week’s episodes of BorN, here are my thoughts.

In regards to episode 7, I feel like this episode would please the LN lovers the most out of the season so far as it’s almost exactly as described in the LN. Sure, the cosplay scene was somewhat different but I still think it satisfied the ecchi part of the show quite well and also played a fair role in terms of character development. Issei x Xenovia was nice too, glad to see that they didn’t take that out. And who is not hyped for JD??? I was hoping to see it next episode but from the preview, it doesn’t look like it’ll be happening.

Now I’ve watched the dubbed version of both season one and two so I saw no reason not to continue. As with many others, I feel like the original version is much better, in terms of the interpretation of some lines and also the VA. Ddraig in the dub sounds much less powerful which annoys me the most and the rest of the cast is decent. BorN has new VAs for Issei and Akeno which I really feel made it worse. The previous VAs embodied their character’s personality much more. Ddraig sounds better in this season so far but Issei’s voice has annoyed me at times because it sounds really out of character.
One thing I have noticed in BorN which I don’t think I did or realised in the previous seasons is the scripting which makes DxD sound a lot more dirty than it actually is. One such line was in episode 3 from Tannin which is truly unforgettable and had me cracking up. “pound that pussy”. Seriously. and “no pun intended” – yeah right. I bet the editors are having one hell of a good time with this. Also Rias’s moan could’ve been much better.

Red Dragon Emperor or Sekiryuutei

So someone mentioned this in a comment and I’d like to know what most of you think. If Sekiryuutei is preferred then I’ll use that, otherwise I’ll stick to Red Dragon Emperor.

Edit: Updated Fake Hero, Joker and Life.4 to “Sekiryuutei” and “Hakuryuukou” except for one instance where I felt that “Red Dragon Emperor” was more suitable.

Wow! When I checked my blog today, I sure was surprised to see it got another 5k hits. I didn’t get around to any translation yesterday but you can expect a few more parts today. Thank god I have cloudflare now, otherwise this site might’ve ended up like the rest. Anyway, thanks for the support!
